Ultra Mecha Battling Circuit is written and created by D W Ó Boyle. D W has been a creative individual interested in various mediums throughout their life. They are probably best known for their video and tabletop games, such as Void Wisp and Our Pantheon, as well as composing music for such games as Earthtongue. You can find their gaming related projects over on their itch.io page linked below.

D W is non-binary and uses he/they pronouns. They are also a disabled colorectal cancer survivor. Originally from New Jersey, they currently reside in Seattle WA. UMBC as a project came to them after watching the majority of the Gundam franchise during the COVID-19 pandemic and receiving a MG RX-78-2 v1.5 gunpla kit as a gift for recovering from surgery. This exposed them to the joys of plastic model building and eventually led them to the 30 Minute Missions line of model kits. Shortly afterwards the idea that would become UMBC arrived.

001 - New Fans Are Made

In a large circular room stands a man.

Spotlights ring the ceiling making him appear shadowless. Below them the floor is etched with the logo for Ultimate Mecha Battling Circuit. A camera drone circles around from behind him, highlighting his large frame. He wears a finely tailored charcoal business suit with filigree patterned trim, a big stylized “H” on the back of the jacket. His toothy smile and bright, intense eyes shine brilliantly under the lights. His slicked-back, bleach-white hair contrasts sharply with the reddish-orange of his tanned skin.

The camera drone flies around to the front and points towards him. On that cue, he begins to speak.

“Welcome one and all to our live preseason explainer! I am Vice Howard, Executive Chairman of Ultra Mecha Battling Circuit!
